Organic and non organic waste
Most yard waste can be trees, branches, brush, grass, sod, mulch, and other vegetative waste that are allowed in our Roll Off’s dumpsters Hollywood. However, you should not mix vegetative debris with construction, junk, or other debris, since our local landfills recycle this material by mulching it.
Now you must be thinking of “What about non organic materials such as paper and carpeting?” Well no problem there! Toss it in, we accept it!
Dirt, brick, stone, concrete, asphalt, and other heavy materials
Now for the busy construction worker or for you who are simply renovating, we have two great options. The construction dumpster rental and the residential dumpster rental.
Brick, stone, drywall, concrete, wood, and asphalt, and other construction materials can be put in either those or roll off dumpsters for those large projects either of you may be undertaking. Please be aware that any commercial renovation and new construction.
Heavier debris, such as: concrete and brick, can be thrown in most dumpsters, however due to its weight, JJ’s Roll-Off only allows 15 Yard dumpsters (filled 3/4 high) for these heavy materials.
Asphalt roofing shingles are another category of heavy debris that can go in a dumpster. However, JJ’S only allows 15 Yard dumpsters for disposing of roofing materials (3/4 to fill lines due to the weight). Drywall and other construction debris can be disposed of in roll offs.
With heavy materials, roll off vehicles can become strained. Only 15 yard dumpsters for concrete disposal, or any other heavy materials. The dumpster may only be filled 3/4 of the way full.
At JJ’s, we can help you find the correct sized dumpster for your project, at the best price possible. Learn more about JJ’S dumpster sizes and pricing. Our Renting Dumpsters 101 article is a great place for first timers.
WHAT CAN I NOT THROW AWAY IN A DUMPSTER?
Whether it be in a large trash dumpster rental or a residential trash dumpster rental there are certain prohibited materials that cannot be put in one. The size does not have anything to do with this particular issue. Whether those or a small dumpster rental in Hollywood.
Appliances
Freon containing appliances. Many of which have to be removed by a professional such as an appliance repair specialist or HVAC certified pro. The refrigerant must be completely removed before disposing of it.
Electronics
Electronics such as TVs and computers are best disposed of through Waste Management’s ECO department above, since many of these items have mercury, or liquids associated with them.
Paint, Stains, and Lacquers
With the exception of latex-based paints, the rest: regular paint, stain, and lacquers cannot be disposed of in our dumpsters. If any latex paint is left over and can’t be reused, it’s best to allow it to dry. This way it will become solid.
Tires, Hazardous Waste, and Batteries Disposal
Tires
These materials all differ but disposal of them is very general. Since most landfills don’t accept tires we cannot accept them either. However taking them to a local tire dealership or mechanic will allow them to be recycled for further use.
Hazardous Waste
The following are a list of materials that should never never be placed in our dumpsters. At our local landfills, there is a separate area for solid waste drop off and disposal.
- Asbestos
- Gasoline
- Pesticides
- Motor oil
- Automotive fluids
- Propane tanks
- Household cleaners
- Ink
- Resins
- Contaminated soil
- Absorbents
- Medical waste
Battery Disposal
Car batteries and dry-cell batteries should not ever be put in a dumpster because they can leak toxic substances into the Earth.
Instead, take it to a specialist that can properly dispose of it. Many retailers have drop off bins designated for old dry-cell batteries, such as lithium, AA, and AAA batteries.
